Representation Without Taxation

I know that seems backwards to some, but today we are talking about illegals aliens working in america that aren't paying taxes.  I will be honest in the fact that I am on the fence about illegal immigration.  In a sense we are all illegal immigrants or born of illegal immigrants.  But what I get ticked about is the fact that some immigrants don't pay a dime in taxes.  So the question I want you to think about today is why is our government, that is paid by our tax dollars, defending those immigrants that refruse to pay taxes.  To me it is taking the taxation without representation from before the American Revolution, and turning it into representation without taxation.

Ride the Wave: Term limits for congress

I don't ride most political waves, and although a fair chunk of my beliefs follow along the path of a conservative, I am an independent voter.  One wave that has come up recently is a wave I am glad to say I will ride all the way to shore.  I new poll is out showing that the majority of American Voters, both Democrat and Republican, support term limits for congress.  I would hope this wave grows to the point where congress has no choice, but to limit itself.

Election time:candidate beware

Election time, and what do we know about our candidate?  Well if we follow just what we see on TV and read in the paper, we know that they raised millions, and spent millions attacking their opponent.  We also know that they want to make sure they bring jobs home.  No matter what state you are from you have probably heard that your candidate did/didn't vote for health care, and did/didn't vote for unemployment benefits.  I not asking you to pick a side on either issue, but I would ask you to find out if your candidate picked the side they wanted or the side you, the voter, wanted.

This has been brought to you in part by FIRE PELOSI, because congress has been democratically controlled since BEFORE bush was voted out.

Mosque at ground Zero

I feel this is a very touchy subject and as such I imagine what I have say with stir up emotions for people on both sides of the argument.  I am a firm believer in the constitution, and in that constitution it gives the people of the United State freedom to practice whatever religion they want.  It also separates that religion from the state.  We were founded this way to ensure that anyone could practice their beliefs in America, the land of the free.
I am not a fan of anything that happened on September 11.  I think it is a horrible pock on American history, made by radicals, but I do not believe that it changes the constitution.  If the community of Islam wants to build a mosque near where a radical group claiming to be Islamic did something horrible then so be it.
I also feel as though we have become a society without a spine, folding to the wants of anyone willing to be loud enough.  Well enough is enough, quit the damned double standard, pick either free or not, and let this be the starting point.  Let them build their mosque, but make them follow the laws of America.  There is no such thing as Sharia law in America.

Out of Control Spending, coming to a state near you

I know it is not just me that is worried that the dollar hit a 15 year low this morning against the yen. Blame Bush, Obama, Pelosi, and Reid or whoever else you want, all I know is that I want my government to stop spending money it does not have. Just yesterday the government gave away another 26 billion to bail out states that couldn't pay their teachers. When will the spending end? Just so people can see it my small town perspective today is the number 26 billion. That is 26,000,000,000 lots of zeros so it seems, but the kicker is that we are still spending 787,000,000,000,000 that the United States doesn't have.

Weight loss Pill disclaimers

Have you ever, while watching TV, seen an ad for the miracle weight loss pill? Me too!  But I find it extremely funny that if you listen to the little man at the end he always uses the disclaimer that this pill will only work when combined with a good diet and exercise.  Now as always I may not be the smartest person in the world, but my small town thought today says that if you use a good diet and exercise you wouldn't need a weight loss pill.  You can work on your weight loss by trying weightlifting, or ab toning, but as with any weight loss progrem you need to eat healthy.  I wish you luck on your goal to lose weight but please remember that all pills have a disclaimer.

Putting your ideas on paper

In the great words of Van Wilder, "Write that down."  While it may seem like a trivial task, writing down your ideas may be your best opportunity to realize your own potential.  Most everyone has a moment when they say that, "I had the greatest idea", but without writing it down it usually stays in the had form.  Use a napkin, an old bill, or even type it in your cell phone, because your little idea could be the next big thing.
